I think that for teachers - of any level - COVID has brought the additional unique stress of putting your class online. I'm compiling resources that I myself will use and want to share. You can go to COVID-19 on this site. Use as you will. Let me know what links help you. Know this: Teaching online WORKS! You can do this.

Here I am at home, beginning my reorganizing of my life thanks to COVID-19. Since I teach computer applications (aka, computer boot camp) at Indiana University, I am quite prepared for online instruction. In fact, I have a long history of teaching people about distance education. This is familiar territory for me.
However, what I find toughest is that I will miss my students. When that hit me last week - that I would not see them in the physical classroom for the rest of the semester - I started to cry. The best part of my job is the students. They are so wonderful. They fill me with joy. I will miss them terribly. Thank goodness I will be able to communicate with them via Internet and phone. As I said to them last week "We will make this work. That's my job." Oh and I also introduced some fun hashtags for K200 social media: Facebook & Twitter. My hashtags: #CantStopK200 #YouCantEscapeK200 #NotTodayCoronavirusIHaveK200 #AccessOnAMac #K200WeWillMakeThisWork #VoldemortCantStopK200 |
