Why run Get Connected on your PC?
2. The UITS Support Center and the millionth ticket At 2:02pm on October 30, the UITS Support Center took a chat question about using Canvas on a mobile Android device, and thus logged its millionth ticket – its millionth question answered since the ticketing system was implemented to track support requests in June 2009. It's quite an accomplishment, helping with that many questions in just five short years. The UITS Support Center strives for customer satisfaction by providing comprehensive, no-cost support, and it shows in their overall customer satisfaction rating: 97 percent. Whether you're having trouble getting your tablet to connect to IU Secure, you need help with Canvas, or you've forgotten your IU passphrase, the UITS Support Center is here to help. Open 24/7 for phone, chat, and email consultations, the UITS Support Center also has walk-in hours and maintains the IU Knowledge Base of FAQs and tech trends. Contact the UITS Support Center >> 3. It's easy to lose a thumb drive. It's hard to lose a Box account. A stolen laptop, a failed hard drive, a lost cell phone, or a missing thumb drive doesn’t have to mean lost files. Your IU Box account provides 100 GB of file storage and collaboration space that you can access from your phone, tablet, laptop, or any Internet-connected device. When you store files in an IU Box account, they're backed up to multiple data centers across the country. Your data is securely stored on US soil and may not be mined by Box or any third party. Box also allows you to easily share files with others. Did you or one of your collaborators accidentally delete a file in Box? No worries, it will remain in your trash for 30 days. A thumb drive wouldn't be so forgiving. For secure, redundant storage of your files with easy online access, think inside the Box. Access your Box account >> Box file security >> Box help menu >> 4. Introducing the Learning Commons at the Wells Library The new Learning Commons on the first floor of the Wells Library at IU Bloomington is a 24/7 technology-infused learning center where students can work on class assignments from start to finish. A partnership between the IU Libraries and University Information Technology Services, the Learning Commons offers wireless access, a tutorial center, research consultations, peer advisors, and technological support. Join us for the grand opening!
5. How it's done: Connecting to IU Secure IU Secure is the safe way to get online at IU. If you're having trouble connecting, the Knowledge Base can help you get on IU Secure no matter what device or operating system you're using. So today I started my young Jedis (aka students) on the path of Weebly. They will make a set and add a blog to it. It will look something like my Ms. Lion's Weebly Site for K200 but will be a bit different as they are all different people. Can't wait to see what they will do!
